Pray for the Glory to Fall on the New Fellowship

In last month’s newsletter I shared a vision of the Glory of God that was received by Bruce Allan, a prophetic man on January 28, 2012.  In that Vision Bruce saw the hands of the Lord pour a clear, bright, liquid over the earth… And as the Lord poured the liquid from the bowl, a loud  voice came from heaven saying, “Now the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, as the water covers the sea” (Habakkuk 2:13-15).

In this month’s newsletter I am asking you the question, “What can we do to hasten the outpouring of God’s Glory?”

Recently I received an email from Christopher Burge, the chapter president of our FGBMFA Greenville, Texas Joshua Chapter.  Christopher was responding to a letter written to the Global Prayer Summit Committee by Bill Sgro President of FGBMFI in Australia.  Christopher writes:

This is truly a beautiful letter from Bill Sgro, President of the Australia FGB, expressing the real heart of Bill and many others. Just this past week the Lord began ministering to me about unity. I had been asking the Lord good questions but, I wasn’t asking the “right” questions. As I fumbled around with ideas about what to do to bring God’s glory I simply asked, “Holy Spirit . . . what do you want?” Over the next few days He showed me several things, but I want to share just one of those bits of revelation with you. He said that although ministry is important, community comes first. In the book of Acts when the day of Pentecost occurred there was first unity and community and then ministry began. When Demos launched this ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit there was first a sense of community in the Fellowship, and ministry began to happen shortly thereafter. Although I am young (28 years old) in my 10 plus years of serving God in, both in FGBA and FGBI, I know that in the early days the meetings involved men who were not just business oriented but they were friends who also fellowshipped outside of the Fellowship. I believe that is the key and foundation that is being restored. We don’t need to push ministry until we have a strong community, then and only then, will real effective ministry happen. I am encouraged by Australian Bill Sgro’s heart because it is also mine.

Below is the letter from Bill Sgro that Chris was responding to:

“To the Global London Prayer Summit Chairman,

As I read the report of the Global London Prayer Summit, joy has filled the area of my heart today where there was great sadness, confusion and indeed disillusionment over the future of this great movement of God.

It was so refreshing to sense the unity, as each National leader spoke of freedom and unity in coming together with brothers of like mind. Who were in one accord under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that moved Demos to action all those years ago. I want to thank those who have fought the good fight to persist and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and move in this direction.

Please be assured that we as a National Board and Leadership Group in Australia, although small in number are very much with you all and feel the love and unity of the larger group.

I am excited at the prospect of again being part of a move of God that would concentrate on the work that we are called to do in outreaching the world for Jesus than merely fight for existence as a Fellowship. May the Lord truly bless you all in this leadership role, and please share my sentiments with the group.

Yours in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Bill Sgro, Australian National President”

I believe that Christopher and Bill’s letters express the heart of every Fellowship Leader who either attended or has heard  about the move of God’s Spirit at the Prayer Summit.  It birthed a new unity in the spirit among the Leaders of the Full Gospel – Global Fellowship. And it has released the Spirit of “Love and Unity” once again in the Fellowship.  Men it is time to re-hang “His Banner Over Us Is Love”.  (Song of Solomon 2:4)

In the last six verses of the Book of John, Jesus prays to the Father for His followers.  Here is that Prayer:

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as we are one- I in them and You in Me-so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.

Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, and to see My glory, the glory You have given Me because You loved Me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know You, I know You, and they know that You have sent Me. I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I Myself may be in them (John 17:20-26 NIV).

In verse 22 Jesus says “I have given them the glory that You gave me, that they may be one as we are one – I in them and You in Me – ‘so that they may be brought to complete unity’.

Why did Jesus say it is so important that we move in unity? “So that the world will know that the Father sent Jesus, and has loved them, even as He loved Jesus.”

And Jesus closed his prayer by saying, “The reason I made You known to them is so that the love You have for Me, may be in them, and that I Myself may be in them.”

The Prayer Summit has changed the spiritual direction of our Fellowship, and we are ‘once again moving to fulfill the Vision that God gave to our Fellowship though his servant  Demos.  Pray men, pray continually for a new wave of revival in our Fellowship!   And a new spiritual awakening in America.

Several Months ago I realized that I had let prayer become a low priority in my life, and I repented before the Lord and reestablished a prayer goal of at least one hour a day in prayer. I encourage you to join me in establishing your own prayer goal.

When the love that the Father had for Jesus, is demonstrated in us, we will see the Glory of God return to our Fellowship.

In Jesus’ Name,

Robert W. Bignold, National President
Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in America
